Terms of use

Last updated 9 October 2026

In short

  • OrgNav is free to use, for work or personally.
  • It acts with your own Salesforce login and permissions, so you are responsible for what you do with it, especially in production.
  • It is provided as-is, without guarantees, and my liability is limited as far as the law allows.

About these terms

These terms apply to your use of the OrgNav browser extension ("OrgNav", "the extension") and the website at orgnav.app. OrgNav is built and published by Michael Aylesbury, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom ("I", "me").

By installing or using OrgNav you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it, or remove it. How OrgNav handles data is covered separately by the privacy policy.

Not a Salesforce product

OrgNav is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Salesforce, Inc. Salesforce and related names are trademarks of Salesforce, Inc. Your use of Salesforce remains governed by your agreement with Salesforce and by your organisation's own policies.

Using OrgNav

You may install and use OrgNav free of charge, for personal use or as part of your work, on as many browsers as you like. OrgNav is not open source: you may not copy, modify, redistribute, resell or publish the extension or its code, or present it as your own, except where the law allows you to.

OrgNav, its name, its logo and its code belong to me. Using OrgNav does not give you any rights in them beyond using the extension as described here.

The data in your Salesforce org is yours, or your organisation's. I claim no rights in it, and OrgNav does not send it to me.

Your responsibilities

OrgNav acts with your own Salesforce login and your own permissions. Anything it does in your org, it does as you. In particular:

  • You are responsible for having permission from your organisation to use OrgNav with its Salesforce orgs.
  • Some features change your org: editing record fields, running anonymous Apex, capturing debug logs (which creates or extends a trace flag) and "Log in as". Check what you are about to do before you do it, and prefer a sandbox to production.
  • You are responsible for the code you run, the changes you make and the data you export, and for keeping exported files safe.
  • Do not use OrgNav to get round access controls, to access data you are not authorised to see, or for anything unlawful.

No guarantees

OrgNav is provided free and "as is". I work to keep it accurate and reliable, but I do not promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every org or every Salesforce release, or that what it displays will always be complete or correct. Salesforce changes its platform regularly, and some features may stop working until OrgNav catches up.

Treat what OrgNav shows you as a convenience, not as a source of record. Before relying on it for an important decision, such as a deployment, check it in Salesforce itself.

To the fullest extent the law allows, I exclude all warranties and conditions that are not set out in these terms.

Limits on my liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you use OrgNav as a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.

Subject to that, I am not liable for:

  • Changes made to your org through OrgNav, including record edits, the effects of anonymous Apex you run, and trace flag or debug level changes.
  • Loss or corruption of data, loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or goodwill, or business interruption.
  • Any indirect or consequential loss.
  • Loss caused by Salesforce, by your browser, or by anything outside my reasonable control.

Subject to the same exceptions, my total liability to you for anything arising from OrgNav is limited to £100.

Changes to OrgNav and to these terms

OrgNav updates automatically through your browser's extension store. I may add, change or remove features, or stop offering OrgNav altogether. Notable changes are listed in the changelog.

I may update these terms. When I do, the date at the top of this page will change. If you keep using OrgNav after a change, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree with them, remove the extension.

Ending

You can stop using OrgNav at any time by removing it from your browser, which also deletes everything it stored. If you break these terms, you no longer have permission to use OrgNav. The sections on ownership, guarantees and liability continue to apply after you stop.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
